There are several places where asbestos can be found in older Canadian homes, one of the most common being asbestos siding. CMHC is often asked if asbestos containing material should be removed. Asbestos in a stable state or encapsulated is not a health threat. Disturbing asbestos containing materials (siding, insulation, floor tiles, etc.) leads to increased exposure.
