Chris & Anita's clients gain on-line access through secure intranet
November 16 2005 - Clients selling their home through Chris & Anita Hoare of Royal Lepage may now access information on showings, feedback, marketing and more through a secure intranet site. "This represents our ongoing committment to give our clients the fastest and most accurate updates," said Chris Hoare in a recent interview.
When clients list their home for sale with Chris & Anita they receive a login name and password which can then be used to access the secure site. "The number 1 complaint in the real estate industry nationwide is a lack of communication from the Realtor to the Seller," said Chris. "They list their home and they don't hear from the agent, they don't know what is being done to sell their home and if they want information they have to call the Realtor."
"In our practice we have always been very proactive in communicating with our clients. Our assistant provides feedback on every showing and additionally we touch base once per week to update our clients. Now, however, clients can access the data on their terms. This will work well for those clients who keep unusual hours, lead busy lives and who feel they should be able to use the internet effectively to manage their time better. This represents about 75% of our clients."
Anita & Chris are quick to point out that this is not a replacement for the regular telephone updates. "Email and internet are fantastic tools but nothing replaces a live conversation. Clients can ask questions, voice concerns and make requests more easily on the phone. A real estate practice is ultimately a people business with good communication and respect for the individual at its core. For us, that will not change any time soon."
